OUR PROGRAMMES

Our organization, MALEKANYANE S.D.O, is dedicated to improving the lives of the elderly and vulnerable individuals in the Atteridgeville community. We have implemented a range of core programmes that aim to address their specific needs and provide essential social welfare assistance. These programmes are the backbone of our organization and are instrumental in fulfilling our mission.

One of our flagship initiatives is the Food Parcel Distribution programmes. Through strategic partnerships with local donors, as we are able to distribute food parcels to elderly community members who are in need. Our goal is to expand this programme in order to reach and assist more families in the community. By doing so we can alleviate the burden of food insecurity for those who are most vulnerable.

Another viral programme are offer is the Soup Kitchen. Our soup kitchen provides nourishing vegetable soup to TB and HIV patients who visit the local clinic. In addition, we deliver soup to elderly and unemployed community members. This programme is made possible through the generous funding we receive from the City of Tshwane and Pick n Pay. By providing warm and nutritious meals, we aim to improve the health and well-being of those who are in dire need of support.

Our Home Based Care programme plays a crucial role in providing personalized care and assistance to elderly, chronically ill, and bedridden patients. Our dedicated caregivers make regular home visits to ensure that these individuals receive the support they require. By offering compassionate care within the comfort of their own homes, we strive to enhance their quality of life and help them maintain their independence to the best of their abilities. At MALEANYANE, we recognize the importance of education in promoting community health and well-being. Through our Health Education programme we provide informative health talks, counseling services, safe sex education and even distribute contraceptives. By  equipping community members with knowledge and resources, we empower them to make informed decisions about their health and lead healthier lives.

Our commitment to community development extends to the younger generation as well. Through our Youth Empowerment programme, we offer agricultural training and hands-on experience to local youth. Thanks to the AGRISETA leadership grant, we are able to provide this valuable opportunity in our community food garden. By imparting agricultural skills and knowledge, we contribute to their personal growth and help them gain valuable experience. In turn, this benefits our food access initiatives and strengthens our ability to provide sustenance to those in need.

As our organization continues to grow and secure additional funding, we are determined to expand our rogrammes further. Our ultimate aim is to provide critical care and support to even more vulnerable community members who desperately need our help. By continuously striving to enhance our services and broaden our reach, we aspire to make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.
