  • ABOUT ORGANISATION

Malekanyane  Social Development Organization [MALEKANYANE S.D.O] is a non –profit organization that was established in 2001 by Claudia Malekanyane Munyai. Our organization is based in Atteridgeville, South Africa, and our primary objective is to provide comprehensive social welfare services to the elderly frail, and the wider community.

 

MALEKANYANE S.D.O was born out of Claudia’s deep-rooted passion for uplifting her community and assisting those facing adversity. After identifying gaps in the government’s provision of social services, Claudia took it upon herself to establish our organization. In the beginning, we operated from Claudia’s family home with a small team of just dedicated staff members. Together, we provide vital care and support to the vulnerable members of our community.

Throughout the years, our organization has experienced remarkable growth, transforming into a moderately-sized establishment that currently employs 210 staff members. We have also relocated to our own premises at 30 Mokobane Street, Atteridgeville. This expansion has allowed us significantly increase our capacity to serve a larger number of individuals through our diverse range of programs, which encompass areas such as elderly care, support for children, and empowerment initiatives for unemployed youth.

 

We are immensely grateful for the unwavering support of our generous donors who have contributed to the success of our organization over the years. Their contributions have played an instrumental role in facilitating the expansion of our reach and the enhancement of our services. Additionally, we are proud to collaborate with the City of Tshwane on select social development initiatives, as we firmly believe in the power of partnership to effect positive change within our community.

 

As we embark on the future, MALEKANYANE S.D.O remains steadfast in our unwavering commitment to our mission. We are resolute in our dedication to providing compassionate care, empowerment, and unwavering support to those who need it most across Atteridgeville and the surrounding communities

VISION AND MISSION

OUR VISION

We envision MALEKANYANE S.D.O becoming the leading non-profit organization providing critical social welfare services and to show love and care for vulnerable households in communities across Southern Africa. As the largest outreach organization in the region, we are committed to empowering thousands of individuals to age with dignity through comprehensive support services that are delivered right to their doorstep.

Our vision is to establish an extensive network of dedicated care workers and volunteers who are equipped to meet the unique needs of every senior in their neighborhood. By fostering strong community partnerships, we will have the necessary resources and manpower to ensure that no elderly person falls through the cracks.

Within the next 5 years, our goal is to expand our services to five countries in Southern Africa, providing assistance to over 50,000 seniors annually. We are confident that we can achieve this ambitious vision through our tireless advocacy, innovative approaches, and unwavering compassion from our dedicated team.

OUR MISSION

Our non-profit organization’s mission is to uplift the standard of living and improve the quality of life while restoring the dignity of the less fortunate in our community.

 

We aim to restore dignity and provide care, love, and opportunities to the often marginalized and vulnerable population. Through our services we strive to:

  • Improve health, nutrition, housing, and access to health care for the vulnerable.
  • Create employment and skills training opportunities for disadvantaged youth to assist with caring for the vulnerable households and less fortunate.
  • Foster connections and community to combat isolation and loneliness.
  • Advocate for policy changes and awareness to support the less fortunate

As an established non-profit we have already made strides supporting many families in our community. However there is still more work to be done. Guided by strong values of compassion and dignity for all, we remain committed to enriching lives through service for years to come.
